Death of Opinion

This is a post gifted to me by The Capitalist Sage who witnessed today’s vile and absolutely unnecessary play with a certain post of mine. Thank you Capitalist Sage!

Opinion died this afternoon. Homicide. Or maybe not. Suicide?

The (moral) police pronounced ‘death by hanging’, while the public thought stoning as per rituals would be suitable. In the end, there was death, away from the belligerent crowd banging on its door. Death came quietly, peacefully and humbly.

In a quiet corner, under dark curtains, Opinion undressed.

It freed itself from the chains of intellect, ego, belief and experience.ย

It let out the last guffaw. One loud laughter of hysteria and sarcasm.

It opened its closed fist and spread its hidden wings. The window opened ajar. Opinion stepped on the sill , carefully, with the last remaining trepidation of a living being. And then it closed its eyes , smiled and jumped.

But the gravity didn’t work on Opinion. The wise say it never does.

So the damned Opinion , now freed by death, floats around in the air and once in a while clings to unknown people, in hope of being embraced.ย

Poor old Opinion.

No takers
Only detractors.

Opinion, RIF – Rest in Flight.

Hey there, was one of the witnesses and wish you had not taken the post off! it was needed and well, truth bites yeah? The seed has been sown and for what little time it was up it has made people think and hopefully for the better… i do wish you’d revive the post, one needs to look into the mirror and accept faults before embracing and enjoying life. Your observation was bang on! Here is hoping to see it back up, hope as always …

Dear Soul Curry (though I would have preferred a real name)
Thank you for your encouragement. Agree with you whole-heartedly and more. I have temporarily changed the privacy settings; havent taken off the post. I am only trying to safeguard what is dear to me and that is my personal and professional life. The good bit is that my post has been seen by many. There are people either on this side of the line or the other. My purpose was not to spite anyone or any body. It was clear in the way I wrote.
Yes, I do cling on to hope. The same hope you mention… ๐Ÿ™‚
Stick along. The journey has only begun.

Calm Dev, appreciate the reply and more so that you aren’t too bothered by the onslaught you were subjected to. Quite honestly, the childish retorts surprised me and made me wonder how people have forgotten that its from criticism and mistakes we learn and get better! I think kids know that better, wouldn’t you agree ;). I mean, you fall, you get up again right? you don’t just sit in one spot wailing your lungs out and making ‘snow angels’ in muck. Yeah, a little ruthless but like i said, i was taken aback by the attitude, they all need major fine tuning. As for who i am, hmm, lets just say at this point i’m better off staying behind the curtain, the view from here is absolutely brilliant and i can be neutral and express my opinion without any sort knots tightening around my neck…:P

      Dear cheeky Soul Curry
You know what lies there. Maybe some other day I will unleash the volcano therein ๐Ÿ˜‰
